I Cling to the Cross

I cling to the cross, and everything it means.
I know it's the only hope there is of saving me.
For without Your great mercy, I would be forever lost.
With a thankful heart I come, and cling to the cross.

In 1 Corinthians 2:1-2, Paul's words to the church at Corinth are a good reminder to us today as we worship with the believers at Timothy Baptist Church in Roxbury. Here are two ideas we are keeping in our hearts and minds this week:

  • Be grateful for the cross of Christ and the gift of grace and salvation He has given to you.

  • The message of the Cross is the message that we are sharing - not promoting ourselves, our music, or the wisdom of the current age - but the timeless message of God's love as expressed through His Son, Jesus Christ. HE is the focus of our message.
